Wave of the Future – Splash from the Past
The
wave has always been a powerful force. A strong symbolic image of the
Atlantic. The ocean has been there for the fishing industry and now the
newest resource, offshore natural gas.
The wave crests not at
open sea, but against the land (green), splashing a white spray of
water, creating the rugged coastline of inlets and harbours that make
up Guysborough's geography and its natural beauty. The white splash
also represents Guysborough's history and cherished animal, the moose.
Without any alterations, the splash contour is the actual shape of a
moose antler.
The elements are arranged in the foreground of the
rising sun (a new day), which is aesthetically crowned over the "G" in
Guysborough.
